Tips from Dymond james
  • Staying updated on the latest financial decisions, market patterns, or business happenings in the industry you’re interested in is really important. It helps to be aware of trends, new ideas, and emerging opportunities.

  • There may be parts of your identity, like race or religion, that make you feel like you don’t belong in some spaces. I’ve found that approaching and proactively building relationships with people I can relate to – in my case other Black women – as a source of support and connection can make a big difference, especially when things get tough.

  • I stay on top of relevant science by listening to podcasts. I learned interview skills on TikTok. I found a Black yoga teacher by Googling exactly what I was looking for. You may have access to a lot more resources and information than you realize, but you have to go looking for it.
